SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (Nov. 20, 2019) – The Clancy, a new Autograph Collection property in downtown San Francisco Downtown, will open its doors in early 2020 in San Francisco’s SoMa neighborhood, taking the place of the Courtyard San Francisco Downtown. But Dawn Taylor-Cole, the hotel’s new Executive Chef, is already transforming the property’s culinary offerings. In her new role, she will focus on The Clancy’s upcoming restaurant concept, Seven Square Taproom, creating artful Modern Californian cuisine. Bringing the back-alley craftsman to the forefront, Seven Square Taproom is approachable and instantly familiar – a perfect stop for lunch, happy hour or dinner.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the talented team at The Clancy,” said Dawn Taylor-Cole, executive chef at The Clancy. “The SoMa neighborhood is filled with incredible restaurants, and I look forward to making a contribution to this vibrant culinary scene.”

Chef Dawn brings more than 20 years of culinary experience to The Clancy. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of the prestigious Johnson & Wales University, her professional career has spanned positions at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa at Disneyworld, Wolfgang Puck Catering and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. Most recently, she served as Executive Chef at the Redwood Room. Having recently attended this year’s 14th Annual StarChefs Congress, she’ll bring the conference’s inspiration to both the menu development and kitchen culture at The Clancy.

The Clancy will stand as a welcoming beacon to visiting guests and local creators by offering a bold mix of alluring charisma, delightful swagger and comforting domesticity. The hotel joins Marriott International’s Autograph Collection® Hotels, a diverse portfolio of independent hotels around the world that reflect unique vision, design and craft.
