In this role overseeing the hotel’s food and beverage program, Chef Reddick will lead the kitchen and develop new and delicious menus for Hyatt Centric’s restaurant and bar concepts, including the stunning 8th floor rooftop bar and the hotel’s first-floor restaurant, along with expanded banquet and event catering service. The new position continues Chef Reddick’s work within the Hyatt family of properties as he has held roles at The Driskill in Austin, Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach And Resort Spa in Clearwater, Florida and Hyatt Regency Downtown Tampa in Tampa, Florida.

“I’m very excited to begin this new chapter with Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin,” said Chef Reddick. “I think hotel guests and Austin locals alike will be delighted by the new offerings, and I look forward to building upon Hyatt Centric’s exceptional culinary profile.”

Chef Reddick joins Hyatt Centric Austin from the city’s historic downtown hotel The Driskill, where he oversaw day-to-day operations at the hotel’s dining concepts and catering and events services. Chef Reddick held the position of executive sous chef and gained extensive fine dining experience catering to the hotel’s diverse clientele, always cognizant of varying customer requests and needs. Before making his way to Texas, Reddick worked as a sous chef at Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach And Resort Spa in Florida, eventually working his way up through the ranks and securing a position as executive chef of the hotel’s dining concept, Shor Restaurant. At Shor, Reddick honed his skills as a kitchen manager and mentor and managed a staff of 23 people on a daily basis.

“We are beyond excited to welcome Chef Reddick to the team and have no doubt that his immense talent will be a great addition to our culinary program,” said Harrison Compton, general manager of Hyatt Centric Congress Avenue Austin. “His wealth of knowledge and skills will no doubt allow for a remarkable experience for our guests and solidify our two unique dining concepts as a go-to destination in Austin’s bustling downtown district.”

Chef Reddick brings over 20 years of diverse professional kitchen leadership and management to the position, where he’ll work alongside Hyatt Centric Austin’s dedicated kitchen and bar management staff, and the events & catering team. An Australia native whose experience has taken him around the world, Reddick has a vast knowledge of global cuisines, which he will draw on to introduce new permanent and seasonal menu items. Chef Reddick holds a Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery, which he obtained from Culinary Arts Chisholm Institute in Melbourne, Australia.
