CARMEL, CALIF. (September 2019) – Quail Lodge & Golf Club announces the appointment of Brian Parks to the position of Executive Chef. In his new role, Chef Parks will oversee all culinary operations at Quail Lodge including the menus at the property’s signature restaurant, Edgar’s, and hotel bar, Waypoint Bar + Kitchen, in addition to banquets, wedding and special events on property.

Parks is a graduate of both the California School of Culinary Arts and College of the Canyons with degrees in Culinary Arts, Business Sciences and Social Sciences. He is a seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry and brings a high level of standards and expertise in culinary ability, profitability and operational efficiencies. He has a vast knowledge and experience of California-cuisine having worked with multiple culinary institutions throughout the state, including: Canary Hotel/Coast Restaurant in Santa Barbara, both Hotel Casa del Mar and Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica, Ojai Valley Inn and Spa in Ojai, Blue Mango Restaurant Group in San Luis Obispo, King’s Seafood Company in both Calabasas and Los Angeles and Georgia’s Smokehouse – a self-owned, award-winning private catering business in Santa Barbara.

Chef Parks’ passion for the culinary arts will be on full display as he maintains Quail Lodge’s commitment to locally sourced California cuisine while adding modern twists and creative approaches to cooking. Guests and locals will have several opportunities to savor Chef Parks’ cuisine as he prepares for the fall and winter seasons at Quail Lodge & Golf Club. On August 31, Parks formally took over Waypoint Bar + Kitchen’s popular “Dinner at Waypoint” series that takes place the last Saturday of each month from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Additionally, in the coming weeks Edgar’s will be releasing Chef Parks’ seasonally-inspired menus for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s, as well as a new “Beerfest” menu in Waypoint Bar + Kitchen from November 7 through 10.
