ATLANTA – June 9, 2016 – With more than 25 years of experience in the meetings and travel industry, David O’Donohoe has been named senior vice president, hospitality sales at The Rainmaker Group. O’Donohoe has a distinguished track record of assisting hoteliers in driving efficiencies and revenue within both group and transient business channels. Prior to Rainmaker, O’Donohoe led global sales and strategy for the Smart Hotel Cloud business at Lanyon.

“David has an impressive track record in hospitality and knows the industry inside and out,” said Tammy Farley, Rainmaker co-founder and president. “We’re excited to introduce him to clients and prospects, and I know he will represent Rainmaker and our solutions well.”

For the past 10 years, O’Donohoe’s focus has been on counseling, consulting and enabling hotel chains, brands, properties and corporations on how to maximize visibility and conversion in a $6 billion meetings marketplace and within a 1.4 million corporate travel RFP process. Moving forward, O’Donohoe will continue to assist hospitality clients with their strategic direction while helping to maximize revenue opportunities and reduce their cost of sale.

With StarCite since 2006, O’Donohoe led the growth of a global meetings and business travel marketplace linking corporate meetings and travel buyers with more than 130,000 hotel properties and travel suppliers around the world. StarCite had a successful investor exit with its purchase by Active Network in 2011. With Active, O’Donohoe was responsible for continued growth of the global supplier business, leading to a successful acquisition by Vista Equity Partners in 2013.

O’Donohoe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Maryland, College Park.
