July 30, 2015 (AUSTIN, TEXAS) — On July 28, 2015 Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®), a nonprofit professional development association based in Austin, Texas, USA, awarded the 1500th Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) designation to an individual who successfully met all of the requirements and passed the CHAE exam. Mrs. Danqing Liu, CHAE, an instructor at Florida International University’s offshore program at Tianjin University of Commerce in China, is the individual honored with this distinction.

“The CHAE program has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception and HFTP is honored to be able to recognize such outstanding individuals,” explains HFTP CEO Frank Wolfe, CAE. “We firmly believe that individuals who choose to earn their certification are some of the greatest leaders of the hospitality finance industry and often the root of the industry’s successes.”

Since 1982, the CHAE program has been recognizing individuals who display competency and skill in the area of hospitality accounting at brands such as Hyatt, Omni, Westin, Starwood, Four Seasons and much more. Active CHAE certificants have reported higher salaries and various career advancement opportunities as a result of their designation. CHAE designees represent a commitment to professionalism, continuing education and a chosen career path.

In order to receive a CHAE designation, an individual must complete the application process and submit all required materials before he or she is able to sit for the exam. Upon successful completion of the exam covering basic accounting, managerial accounting, asset management, tax & law, and operations, the individual is awarded their designation. To maintain his or her designation, the individual must complete 60 hour of continuing education every two years.

Next year, the CHAE exam will launch with newly revised and refreshed questions reflecting the changing environment of the hospitality finance industry as HFTP strives to provide the most up-to-date and accurate depiction of the industry landscape.
