Austin, Texas (October 26, 2023) — Each year, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) seeks input from industry professionals and presenters to help create an engaging, informative and comprehensive education program for the association’s foremost event, the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC®). New for 2024, HFTP is inviting well-informed hospitality technology professionals to share their expertise and submit a presentation proposal as part of the program development process. The proposal submission period will run through January 10, 2024.  HITEC 2024 is scheduled for June 24–27 in Charlotte, N.C. USA.

For over 50 years, HITEC has given thousands of attendees access to the latest education from industry experts and hospitality technology and financial solutions, making the nonprofit show the largest of its kind. HITEC 2023 educational offerings included environment, social and governance (ESG) strategies, technology’s role in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), the rise of AI-powered language generation, employee recruitment/retention strategies and data science and revenue management.

Behind the scenes of each installment of HITEC is the HITEC Advisory Council, a group of highly knowledgeable industry veterans from around the globe, volunteering their expertise to the planning and coordination of the conference’s education program. These individuals share a deep understanding of the complexities and constant evolution of the hospitality industry and collectively seek voices that can share sustainable solutions to these challenges.

For HITEC 2024, the council is incorporating a new hybrid approach to its program planning. Seeking presentation proposals for consideration ensures that attending professionals will have access to industry guidance that they themselves are most interested in hearing.

“The HITEC community reaches far and wide throughout the global hospitality industry, advantageously giving us access to the most innovative industry practices,” said 2023 HITEC Advisory Council Co-Chair Shannon McCallum. “By opening up the program planning with the call for presentation proposals, we extend our range of expertise and ensure we capture the latest and most interesting technology developments for the 2024 program.”

Proposals should be industry-specific and unique to HITEC, crafted for seasoned hospitality professionals. Conference attendees are interested in hearing about best practices, lessons learned and receiving tangible take-aways they can implement on the job immediately.

Topics for primary consideration in 2024 may include (but are not limited to) artificial intelligence, sustainability and renewable resources, best practices regarding ethics, operational/back-office solutions, personal development and more.

Presenters will receive a complimentary HITEC 2024 registration in exchange for speaking. They will then be responsible for their own participatory travel and hotel expenses.
