PARK CITY, Utah/ September 3, 2015—Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, a full-service hotel management company that specializes in owning and operating luxury and upscale urban hotels and resorts, today announced the re-opening of the Mosaic Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., following an eight-month, multi-million dollar renovation. The 49-room hotel, named by Travel + Leisure World as one of the top 10 small city hotels in the U.S./Canada with fewer than 100 rooms, is located a short walk from the famed Rodeo Drive.

The new interior design by Luxlo, a London-based design firm specializing in luxury hotels, blends California whimsy with European sophistication for a look and feeling that is uniquely Beverly Hills. The Mosaic engagement was Luxlo’s first in the U.S.

“Mosaic enjoys a very discerning clientele, and we were careful to incorporate their suggestions and preferences in all of our renovation decisions,” said Jeff McIntyre, principal of Gemstone. “The result is a welcoming, design-forward boutique hotel with the latest technological conveniences that will meet the needs of both leisure and business travelers.”

According to Tim King, Luxlo’s principal designer, the use of bright colors, ultra modern artwork and whimsical wallpapers celebrate the California spirit, while the classic, bowler-hatted doorman is a nod to more traditional elegance. Throughout, fine furnishings, original artwork and custom silk embroidered wall paper reflect uncommon taste and quality.

Guest rooms are sleekly outfitted with low-slung chairs, Nespresso machines, bedside lighting controls and media hubs, electronic “do not disturb” signs and a “media hug” entertainment system designed to interface with a guest’s personal devices. In the bath, rainfall showerheads and palm trees on the walls remind guests of their distinctive destination.

“The Mosaic has long been known as a chic, intimate retreat in the middle of one of the greatest cities in the U.S.,” said Thomas Prins, principle of Gemstone. “With this renovation, we set out to enhance that reputation, and I think guests will agree that we’ve amped up the style and sophistication while retaining the hotel’s neighborhood feel.”

Mosaic’s dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers intimate indoor seating or al fresco dining in the lush gardens. The restaurant is a comfortable, neighborhood respite offering distinctly California cuisine; eclectic dishes, using fresh California ingredients, with a modern twist. The hotel also offers an elegant lobby bar showcasing the finest liqueurs, wines and cocktails. The refreshed pool area provides the ideal setting for relaxation with sleek white furniture, cabanas and a cozy fire pit.
