Benchmark Appoints Brett Atkinson Senior Vice President of Finance

The Woodlands (Houston), Texas, November 2016 … BENCHMARK®, a global hospitality company, has named Brett Atkinson senior vice president of finance. Kirk Jones, chief financial officer of Benchmark, made the announcement.

"It is with great pleasure that I formally welcome Brett to Benchmark,” said Mr. Jones. “He brings an important background in finance within the hospitality industry and within banking to his new role, which will serve our company well.”

Brett Atkinson was previously chief financial officer for Gemstone Hotels & Resorts, a company that merged with Benchmark in July of this year. In addition to his role with Gemstone, Mr. Atkinson was a partner in a Marriott-approved select service hotel management company, which he recently sold. Prior to joining the hospitality industry, Mr. Atkinson worked in the mortgage banking industry, where he led a bank through a successful IPO.

Brett Atkinson is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Brigham Young University. Mr. Atkinson is relocating to The Woodlands, Texas.
