July 18, 2018 (The Woodlands, Texas)The Woodlands® Resort, a sprawling retreat located 30 miles north of Downtown Houston, announces the appointment of Ryan Adams as General Manager. Drawing upon nearly two decades of experience in the luxury hospitality sector throughout the U.S., Adams oversees all day-to-day operations of The Woodlands Resort, including accommodations, food and beverage outlets, guest services, as well as wide array of recreational programs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan to The Woodlands Resort and look forward to incorporating his enthusiasm and leadership of enhancing the overall guest experience from check-in to check-out,” said Scott Spann, Vice President of Hospitality for The Howard Hughes Corporation®, which owns and manages the Texas property. “Ryan brings a wealth of expertise and unwavering passion, which ensures that he will be a valuable asset to our team.”

Prior to joining The Woodlands Resort team, Adams held the position of Resort Manager at Chatham Bars Inn Resort and Spa in Chatham, Mass. During his tenure, Adams was responsible for overseeing all food and beverage outlets, guest services at the 217-room property, and more. Adams also established the Chatham Bars Inn Cares committee, which aims to support local needs, enhance employee engagement, and improve positioning of the resort in the community.

Additional roles held by Adams prior to joining The Woodlands Resort include Director of Operations at the SLS Beverly Hills in Beverly Hills, CA; Director of Rooms at the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, CA; and Executive Assistant Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach in Manalapan, FL. Born and raised in Coronado, CA, Adams graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in hotel/restaurant management from Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. He is joined at The Woodlands by his wife Sara Adams and son Harrison.

Adams joined The Woodlands Resort at an exciting time, with the 2018 summer season in full swing. With a wide array of new experiences, travelers and locals can enjoy the recently reimagined Robard’s® Steakhouse, which earned two top honors at the 2018 Wine + Food Week Grand Tasting and Chef Showcase. The Woodlands Resort also debuted four new luxury cabanas, which come equipped with shaded seating for up to six guests, cable TV and complimentary wi-fi. Also new for the summer is The Sweet Spot, a poolside destination complete with a selection of sweet treats courtesy of Executive Pastry Chef Ryan Witcher.
