Originally from Northern California, Scott has always held a deep appreciation for the Hawaiian Islands’ culture and community. With a dream of relocating to Hawaii with her family, Scott made this a reality and moved to Hawaii’s Big Island in 2019 and brings her admiration and over 25 years of industry experience to her new role at King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort.

“We are excited to welcome Sara to King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, where her experience and drive has already been felt across the property, through our teams and valued guests”, said General Manager Edward Braunlich. “Not only is Sara an industry expert and dynamic leader, her passion for the community and our strong culture at King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort shines through in all she does and we are honored to have her part of our ohana.”

Most recently, Scott served as director of sales and marketing at Outrigger Kona Resort for over three years, overseeing various departments including the sales, marketing, catering, convention services, banquets, and cultural teams. Prior to arriving in Hawaii, Scott held roles as director of sales and marketing at Northern California properties, including Marriott Pleasanton, where her team was awarded Marriott Western Regional Sales Team of the Year in 2015, as well as Lafayette Park Hotel & Spa and Sheraton Pleasanton.

At King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, Scott will lead the sales and marketing teams, maintain guest satisfaction while increasing revenue and property goals, maximize opportunities for leisure, business and group travelers, and more. With her dedication to the destination and expertise in hotel management and sales strategy, Scott is looking forward to strengthening strategy, driving revenue and amplifying the resort’s commitment to community, culture and people through this new position.

The destination defining resort is located on the land where King Kamehameha the Great peacefully governed after uniting the Hawaiian Islands under his rule. In honor of this deep history, visitors will find an endless array of historical and cultural experiences throughout the resort.
