KAILUA-KONA, Hawai’i (January 25, 2024) — King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Revell Newton as the new director of sales and marketing of the 455-room property, set on 13 idyllic beachfront acres on the Island of Hawaiʻi. With a remarkable 25-year career in Hawaii’s hospitality industry, Newton brings a wealth of experience and local expertise to his new role.

Prior to joining King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, Newton held key leadership roles at luxury resorts across Oahu, Kauai and Maui, including general manager of Aqua-Aston Hospitality and vice president of sales, marketing, and business development at Castle Hospitality Group. Before that, Newton’s journey in the hospitality sector also led him to serve as the General Manager of the Outrigger Waikiki, hotel manager at the Sheraton Kona Resort, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing guest experiences, as well as director of sales and marketing for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Waikiki, and director of sales and marketing for Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa and Kapalua Bay Hotel (a Luxury Collection Resort).

Newton’s dedication and contributions to the industry have been recognized through his membership in Meeting Professionals International, serving on the USS Missouri Memorial Association Board of Directors, and as a past board of director with the Aloha Membership Chapter and the Professional Conference Managers Association.

At King Kamehameha Kona Beach Resort, Newton will spearhead sales and marketing efforts, ensuring guest satisfaction, boosting revenue, achieving property goals, and optimizing opportunities for leisure, business, and group travelers, leveraging his dedication to the destination and proficiency in hotel management and sales strategy. Newton looks forward to enhancing strategy and reinforcing the resort’s dedication to community, culture, and people in his new role.
