The properties will join Sage’s Premier Collection, a growing portfolio of nearly 30 soft-branded, branded luxury and full-service hotels, including The Ritz-Carlton Chicago, Perry Lane Hotel (Luxury Collection, Savannah, GA), The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort and Spa (Sonoma, CA), The Guild (Tribute Portfolio, San Diego), The Nines (Luxury Collection, Portland, OR), The Elizabeth (Autograph Collection, Fort Collins, CO) and Canopy by Hilton Bethesda North. “These two hotels are another home run when it comes to the type of property we are actively adding into the Sage portfolio,” said Daniel del Olmo, president and COO of Sage Hotel Management, a Sage Hospitality Group Company. “I, along with everyone at Sage, could not be more thrilled to welcome these properties into the Sage family and we look forward to the exciting work ahead to make both hotels places people go to, not through.”

Baldwin, will be managed by the team at Sage Restaurant Concepts, a Sage Hospitality Group Company, which operates more than 30 restaurants, bars and coffee shops in 11 states. The Sage Restaurant Concepts is seasoned in the operation of fine-dining and speakeasy concepts, and will leverage their depth of experience to continue and build upon the services at both properties.

Baldwin, Curio Collection by Hilton

After a multi-million-dollar renovation of a 40-year-old property on the west side of downtown Houston, C. Baldwin opened in October 2019 to much fanfare. C. Baldwin honors Charlotte Baldwin Allen, wife of Augustus Chapman Allen who co-founded Houston with his brother John Kirby Allen in 1836. The soul of the hotel acknowledges her pioneering role as “Mother of Houston” and lauds her hands-on 19th c. presence as a pivotal businesswoman, cattle rancher, philanthropist, and trailblazer. The property, in all ways, celebrates the trailblazing spirit of women in Texas.

This stunningly designed 354-room hotel boasts 14,000 square feet of meeting space, signature restaurant Rosalie helmed by celebrity Chef Chris Cosentino, an invitation-only women’s club that puts a modern twist on the hidden speakeasy, a local grab and go concept, abundant green space, innovative retail destination Sloan/Hall luxury goods, and an all-natural salon, Paloma. Each of the four companies within Sage Hospitality Group will contribute to the future success of both C. Baldwin and Sheraton Austin Hotel at the Capitol. Beyond the operational expertise that Sage Hotel Management and Sage Restaurant Concepts bring to the project, the company’s branding and creative arm, Sage Studio, will lend their knowledge and expertise to bring hotel’s unique story to life and find opportunities to create new and exceptional experiences. While not directly investing in the properties, Sage Investments will provide operational teams with guidance on how to always “think like an owner yet act like a partner.”
