Atlanta-based Hospitality Lodging Systems (HLS) added seven new hotels to its portfolio during January, with five Budgetel properties and two Haven Hotel properties.

The Budgetel properties are all conversions:

  • Chattanooga, Tennessee — 280 rooms opening in June
  • Columbus, Georgia — 180 rooms opening in February
  • Dalton, Georgia — 130 rooms opening in February
  • Grand Rapids, Michigan — 104 rooms opened in January
  • Louisville, Kentucky — 100 rooms opening in February

The Haven brand properties are a 40-room conversion in Athens, Georgia, which is opening in February as a Haven Hotel, and 40-room new construction in Houston, which is expected to open late this year as the brand’s first Haven Inn & Suites.

“Hotel owners want profits and peace of mind,” said Doug Collins, Chairman and CEO of HLS. “Our brands deliver these results economically and effectively.”

Added Collins, “We originally forecast adding 15 properties in 2016, so January represents an impressive 47% of our goal for the year.”

With these new properties, the HLS portfolio now includes 29 Budgetel properties and five Haven Hotel properties.
