El Paso, Texas — October 31, 2019 — Hersha Hospitality Management (HHM) Group today announced Wolfgang Jonas has been named general manager of The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park. Mr. Jonas also serves as the lead on the property’s pre-opening team. Set to open in early 2020, the beautifully restored 19-floor boutique hotel dates back to the 1930s, boasting a rich history tied into the destination of El Paso, Texas.

With over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Mr. Jonas has helped bring the project to life and will continue to lead the hotel’s development and contribute to the revival of the city. Prior to joining The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, he held operational and management positions at notable hotels and brands such as the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta; Westin Hotels and Resorts in Atlanta; The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company; Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta; Kura Hulanda Hotel and Spa in Curacao; the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, and the Fairmont Miramar Hotel and Bungalows. He also served as an industry consultant for top hotels around the world, including serving as general manager for the Hotel Cayena in Caracas, Venezuela, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
Mr. Jonas received his Bachelor of Science in multi-national business from Florida State University and holds dual citizenship in Venezuela and the United States.
