CORK, Ireland (April 8th, 2024) — Liss Ard Estate, the elegant, Georgian-style mansion situated on 163 acres in the verdant West Cork region, today announced the appointment of Nick van Duijn as its new General Manager. Bringing over 20 years of experience from working at hotels and resorts across the globe, van Duijn is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the exquisite Relais & Châteaux designated property, including its 26 rooms, award-winning restaurant, and lakeside wellness centre.

Most recently, van Duijn served as the deputy general manager at the acclaimed Ballynahinch Castle Hotel & Estate, a fellow Relais & Châteaux member in Ireland. Prior to that, van Duijn was the General Manager of Virginia Park Lodge, a celebrity chef-owned boutique property in County Cavan, Ireland, and before that, was the Director of Food & Beverage at the prestigious five-star Hotel Okura in Amsterdam. While at Hotel Okura, he oversaw operations for five restaurants, four of which earned Michelin Stars.

Prior to his roles in Europe, van Duijn held leadership roles in some of the world’s most renowned five-star hotels in Asia and the Middle East, most notable in China with Hilton International and InterContinental Hotels. van Duijn earned his bachelor’s degree in International Hospitality Management at Stenden in the Netherlands, in addition to receiving certification in food service management from Cornell University.
