(San Luis Obispo, CA) – San Luis Obispo’s premier luxury property, Hotel Cerro, is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Director of Food & Beverage, William “Bill” Haley. Haley will be overseeing all of Hotel Cerro’s dining and room service operations, including the hotel’s signature restaurant, Brasserie SLO.

A native of Northern California and a graduate of Cal Poly with a degree in Agricultural Business, as well as Wine and Viticulture, he returns to the city of San Luis Obispo after more than a decade gaining valuable experience in the hospitality field.  Most recently, Haley was the General Manager of the restaurant at Tin City in Paso Robles, a renowned SLO wine country destination thanks to its 26 tasting rooms. The only restaurant at Tin City, Tin Canteen was hailed as San Luis Obispo’s Best New SLO County Restaurant under his tenure.  It became known as a top wine industry meeting spot and was where Haley developed his far-reaching connections within the Paso Robles wine-making community.

Prior to that, Haley garnered a wealth of restaurant and managerial experience from his years in the Lake Tahoe area.  In his role as general manager of the Truckee Hotel, he relaunched the historic property after an extensive renovation and modernization, as well as overseeing operations of its popular eatery, Moody’s Bistro.  From there he joined Vail Resorts, holding management positions at T.C.’s Pub and Tavern 6330, both at Northstar Ski Resort.

“While it was originally my intent after graduating to pursue a career in sales and marketing in the wine industry, after working in the hospitality business, I found that providing an exceptional restaurant experience was really my passion,” explains Haley. “My goal is to create an evening that is a parallel universe, not just a meal.  Dining out allows people to take a pause from reality – something they need right now – and I want to provide an exceptional event in terms of food, wine and service that they will carry with them.”
