The sophisticated beach resort introduces new leadership following the unveiling of a multi-million dollar renovation

RIVIERA NAYARIT (AUGUST, 2023) – W Punta de Mita, the newly reimagined beachfront resort on the shores of Riviera Nayarit, is pleased to announce the appointment of Oscar Gonzalez Ibarra as General Manager. With his extensive expertise in luxury hospitality and commitment to delivering unparalleled guest experiences, Gonzalez is poised to lead W Punta de Mita’s reputation as the premier lifestyle hotel in the region.

Oscar Gonzalez Ibarra began his career in his hometown of Mexico City at the J.W. Marriott Hotel. Over the course of his impressive 26-year tenure, he has held numerous leadership positions across a range of hotels and Marriott branded properties, leading him to work in diverse locales spanning from Panama and London to Aruba, Honduras and, most notably, Mexico. His hard work and dedication landed him General Manager of the Year of Marriott’s Caribbean and Latin American (CALA) region in 2019. Prior to joining W Punta de Mita, Gonzalez served as Chief Operating Officer in a private real estate company, where he oversaw seven hotels under the Hilton and Hyatt umbrellas.

In his new role, Gonzalez will take the helm of the 126-room resort’s operations, with his responsibilities cementing the property’s standing as the foremost lifestyle hotel in Rivera Nayarit. His role will be instrumental in highlighting the recent multi-million dollar renovation and ensuring the resort remains a haven where guests can experience the destination in a relaxed and authentic way.

“I am truly honored to be joining the exceptional team at the renovated and sophisticated W Punta de Mita,” said Gonzalez. “This resort’s transformation is nothing short of remarkable, and I am excited to contribute my passion for hospitality and innovation to elevate the guest experience even further. Together with our dedicated team, I look forward to creating unforgettable moments that capture the essence of the local culture and vibrant W Punta de Mita .”
