Vancouver’s legendary city retreat to unveil reimagined accommodations and revived culinary and beverage spaces in 2024

Rosewood Hotel Georgia, downtown Vancouver’s iconic and most luxurious retreat, has announced that the property closed on January 1, 2024 to undergo an extensive renovation and will re-open early April 2024. The refurbishment of the adored gathering spot will encompass signature spaces throughout the hotel including the lobby and 1927 Lobby Lounge, its accommodations and the beloved Reflections Terrace. The new design will seamlessly connect contemporary elements with classic luxury features, showcasing materials ranging from polished marble and rich dark wood to plush velvet textures that reflect both the bustling coastal city with the surrounding Pacific Northwest landscape. Aligned with the new design, the property’s food and beverage concepts will also be reimagined with enticing culinary programs that celebrate Vancouver’s dynamic cultural heritage.

“We continue to challenge ourselves at Rosewood Hotel Georgia to create transformative experiences that capture the essence of Vancouver’s vibrant character which is why we could not be more thrilled to unveil this extensive rebirth,” says Safwan Abu Risheh, Managing Director at Rosewood Hotel Georgia. “We carefully selected both New York City interior designer Lillian Wu and Vancouver-based Ste. Marie Studio, an established interior design company with extensive experience in reimagining unique award-winning restaurants such as Kissa Tanto, Torafuku and more, for their thoughtful approach to crafting meaningful spaces that layer the property’s rich history. We look forward to sharing additional details on their forthcoming concepts in the New Year as we unveil our truly refined spaces reflective of the destination’s distinctive heritage.”

All 156 rooms, including the property’s 22 suites, will reflect the epitome of refined comfort and sophistication. Featuring interiors designed by New York City-based design studio Lillian Wu Studio, the suites and rooms will offer guests an atmosphere of serenity with polished furnishings striking the harmonious balance between modernity and timeless luxury. The juxtaposition of light grey tones, patterned furnishings and deep green hues accented by gold fixtures were designed to reflect the historic and chic elements of the property.

Designed by Vancouver-based Ste. Marie Studio, which will also be spearheading both the 1927 Lobby Lounge and Reflections Terrace, the lobby will welcome guests with refined sense of arrival, framed by elegant marble and velvet green tones seamlessly connecting both the Front Desk area and 1927 Lobby Lounge dining space. Set to celebrate the rich tapestry of the city, the expanded 1927 Lobby Lounge will offer an exquisite version of fine dining and artisanal cocktails that weave in the rich narratives of Vancouver’s neighborhoods. Enriching its reestablished setting, the lobby will also feature a rotating line up of entertainment to perform on select nights, covering music genres ranging from R&B, Jazz and Soul, performed by soloists, duos or trios.

A beloved local favorite, Reflections Terrace will be reimagined to offer its beloved lively atmosphere beyond the warm weather season. Previously a seasonal outpost, the Reflections Terrace will be open for year-round libations and dining for Vancouver residents and visitors alike beginning in June 2024. The reborn space will reflect the lush landscapes enveloping the city, featuring light wood and deep green accents and biophilic interior design elements complemented by a new fully retractable roof.

During the renovation period, Hawksworth Restaurant and Bel Café will remain open to visitors.
