These seasoned hospitality veterans are set to spearhead operations at established 1 Hotel properties spanning North America and Treehouse Silicon Valley opening this year, as well as European locations including Treehouse Manchester, also opening this year, and 1 Hotel Copenhagen.

Bernd Pichler – Area Managing Director, 1 Hotels, New York City:

Bernd Pichler has been promoted to Area Managing Director of 1 Hotels, New York City, where he oversees 1 Hotel Central Park, handles day-to-day operations of 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, and plays a key role in expanding the brand and its identity. Pichler joined SH Hotels & Resorts in 2019 as the Hotel Manager at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, Forbes’ pick as the hotel with the best views in NYC in 2023. The property features a market-driven, farm-to-table restaurant, The Osprey, rooftop bar with sweeping skyline views, Harriet’s Rooftop & Lounge, and seasonal grab-and-go cafe, Neighbors. Guests can also enjoy the holistic and rejuvenate Bamford Wellness Spa. In 2021, Pichler was promoted to General Manager at 1 Hotel Central Park, where he oversaw the extensive renovation and launch of Park Penthouse, the property’s newly opened, luxurious top floor. With over two decades of experience at global and US properties, Pichler has held significant roles at hotels such as the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe and The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa.

Catherine Lee – General Manager, 1 Hotel Central Park:

Catherine Lee has been promoted to General Manager of 1 Hotel Central Park, ranked #13 in Time Out New York’s list of the best boutique hotels in NYC, where she runs daily operations throughout the property, including at Jams, the hotel’s restaurant by Chef Jonathan Waxman, as well as the newly opened Park Penthouse. Lee joined 1 Hotel Central Park in 2016 as Director of Rooms shortly after the property’s opening and was promoted to various other positions including Hotel Manager in 2018. During her time as Hotel Manager, Lee acted as a taskforce with several of the brand’s successful openings including 1 Hotel San Francisco and 1 Hotel Nashville. She also worked on the opening teams for 1 Hotel Toronto, Treehouse Hotel London, and 1 Hotel Mayfair. Lee has spent over 20 years in hospitality, with prior experience including The Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park and New York Marriott Marquis, among others.

Shadi Omeish – Regional Vice President, West Coast:

Shadi Omeish has been an invaluable member of SH Hotels & Resorts for almost eight years, during which he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and contributed significantly to the success of the brand. Omeish joined SH Hotels & Resorts in 2016 as the General Manager at 1 Hotel South Beach and was later promoted to General Manager at 1 Hotel West Hollywood and subsequently took on the role of Area Managing Director, West Coast. In his new position as Regional Vice President, West Coast, Omeish will be responsible for overseeing the current and future western region properties, which includes 1 Hotel West Hollywood, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, the upcoming Treehouse Silicon Valley and 1 Hotel Seattle, where he will focus on key areas such as employee engagement, crisis management, and labor relations. Prior to joining 1 Hotels, Omeish worked with renowned companies and brands including Four Seasons, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Marriott, MGM Grand, and Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino.

Ashley Gochnauer – Area General Manager, 1 Hotel San Francisco & Treehouse Silicon Valley:

Ashley Gochnauer has been promoted to Area General Manager overseeing 1 Hotel San Francisco, named one of the best hotels in San Francisco by Elite Traveler, and Treehouse Silicon Valley, opening this year. Most recently the General Manager at 1 Hotel San Francisco, Gochnauer will now be responsible for overseeing both properties and providing valuable support to the opening efforts at Treehouse Silicon Valley. Gochnauer brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to her new position, having worked at various hospitality companies and brands such as Viceroy Hotels, The London, Kimpton Hotels, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Throughout her professional journey, she has actively contributed to hotel openings and transitions, showcasing her expertise and commitment to excellence.

Alyssa Robin – General Manager, Treehouse Silicon Valley:

Alyssa Robin joins SH Hotels & Resorts as General Manager of Treehouse Silicon Valley, the brand’s first U.S. property set to open this year. As General Manager, Robin will be responsible for opening efforts and initiatives across the property, as well as day to day operations throughout the 254-key hotel. Under Robin’s leadership, Treehouse Silicon Valley will fuse creativity, innovation, and adventure in a dynamic space where guests can relax, restore, and reconnect. Having worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years, Robin most recently served as Campus General Manager for the Hotel Citrine and AC Palo Alto under Evolution Hospitality. Prior to that, she worked as a Regional Director of Operations for a family-owned hotel company in Palo Alto.

Anthony Campaniaris – General Manager, 1 Hotel Toronto:

Anthony Campaniaris, a seasoned hotel executive, has assumed the role of General Manager at 1 Hotel Toronto, a sustainable sanctuary in downtown ranked the #1 hotel in Toronto by U.S. News & World Report. Companiaris oversees daily operations property-wide, including at the hotel’s four unique dining outlets: a sustainably driven, zero-waste restaurant, 1 Kitchen, a lobby bar with seasonal cocktails and lite-bites, Flora Lounge, TripAdvisor’s #1 Mexican restaurant in Toronto, Casa Madera, and a luxurious rooftop space, Harriet’s Rooftop. With a 20-year track record in the hospitality industry, Campaniaris brings a wealth of experience from key leadership roles in Toronto’s top hotels. His previous positions include Director of Hotel Operations at the Hazelton Hotel and Director of Sales and Business Development for the Shangri-LA Hotel, and he played a key role in the opening of the Anndore House. Campaniaris has also worked internationally with Nobu Hospitality, contributing to the success of Nobu Hotels in Warsaw and Santorini, among others.

Nicholas Gold – Vice President of Operations, 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay:

Nicholas Gold, a 30-year hospitality veteran, has been appointed Vice President of Operations at 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay, 1 Hotels’ new flagship property on Kaua‘i’s North Shore. Previously the Club and HOA General Manager for Kukui‘ula on Kaua‘i’s South Shore, Gold brings valuable experience to his role overseeing the property’s day-to-day operations. A primary focus includes the launch of Within Wellness, a program of custom retreats, experiences, and transformative lifestyle offerings that position the property as the ultimate destination for guests in pursuit of personal wellbeing. Gold previously served General Manager roles at Amangiri Resort in Utah, Tanque Verde Ranch in Arizona, Enchantment Resort & Mii amo Spa in Arizona, and Miraval Life in Balance Resort & Spa in Arizona, as well as managed luxury boutique resorts in Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Felix Schaller – Area General Manager, 1 Hotels, Europe & General Manager, 1 Hotel Copenhagen

With over two decades of hospitality experience, Felix Schaller has been appointed Area General Manager of 1 Hotels, Europe, and concurrently to General Manager of 1 Hotel Copenhagen, opening in 2025. . As Area General Manager, Europe, Schaller oversees world-class operations in the European market, managing existing hotels and handling pre-opening responsibilities for Treehouse Manchester (opening in 2024) and the transformation of Skt Petri into 1 Hotel Copenhagen (opening in 2025). He actively contributes to the company’s European expansion, working on development deals for all three SH brands. As General Manager at 1 Hotel Copenhagen, Schaller oversees hotel renovations and pre-opening initiatives. Schaller joined SH Hotels in 2019 and most recently served as General Manager at 1 Hotel Toronto.

Spencer Yeo – General Manager, Treehouse Hotel London:

Spencer Yeo has stepped into the role of General Manager at Treehouse Hotel London where he is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations. Situated in the heart of Marylebone at Langham Place, one of London’s most vibrant neighborhoods, Treehouse Hotels’ flagship property is designed to captivate the playful and whimsical spirit within each guest. It was ranked #32 in Conde Nast Traveller’s 2023 Readers’ Choice Awards for the best hotels in the UK. With an impressive 30 years of diverse experience in the hospitality industry, Yeo’s most recent role was as General Manager at Cannizaro House and Hotel Du Vin in the UK. He has also held various positions at esteemed hotel groups worldwide, such as Development & Commercial Director at Campbell Gray Hotels, General Manager at Viceroy Hotel Groups, and Director of Sales & Marketing at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, among others.

Continuing an exciting phase of growth, SH Hotels has a dynamic pipeline of properties poised to open worldwide. The highly anticipated 1 Hotel Melbourne is scheduled to open its doors this year, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s global presence as its first Australian property. 1 Hotels will also launch its second European location, 1 Hotel Copenhagen, with additional properties in various stages of development in Austin, Cabo San Lucas, Paris, Elounda Hills (Crete), Riyadh, Seattle, and San Miguel de Allende.
