With increased demand and growth for PPDS in North America, King’s focus will be on serving hotels and resorts in North America

ATLANTAPPDS, the exclusive provider of Philips Professional TV and Digital Signage products, software, and innovations announced today that industry expert and long-time Philips leader Joe King’s new role will focus exclusively on hospitality for North America. With accelerated and robust demand for upgraded smart hotel TVs this year, PPDS is adjusting its organization to provide dedicated senior leadership for each market segment they serve.

A well-respected leader in hospitality technology, King’s career representing the Philips brand spans more than 35 years.  He first served as a National Account Director for almost ten years, winning multiple sales excellence awards. He was then promoted to Director of Sales for Hospitality in the Americas, where he was selected for a global “One Philips” initiative that produced two of the largest hospitality contracts in company history. He has built and maintained long-term customer relationships throughout his time at Philips, while consistently leading winning sales and service teams, and ultimately driving the business to be a market leader.

It was an easy decision for King, who is incredibly passionate about the hospitality sector, to make the move when he was asked to take the lead over the newly created hospitality segment under PPDS. In this current role, he oversees the overall hospitality business strategy, including sales, marketing, product development and service.

Philips recently returned to the North American hospitality market rebranded as PPDS, and the timing has proved to be just right with both demand and potential on the rise after the pandemic. “Based on the market’s response to our return this year, we quickly recognized the need to have a dedicated leader like Joe King running our hospitality program. In this new role, he will be able to spend more time with prospects and clients and continue to provide the highest levels of service for which we are known,” said Chris Colpaert, General Manager for PPDS worldwide.

PPDS recently showcased its new MediaSuite pro Android TVs – the hotel industry’s most advanced professional smart TV – at HITEC®, the world’s largest and oldest hospitality technology event last month. Now available in North America, Philips MediaSuite is the first smart professional Android OS based TV designed specifically for the hotel room, and the only set with Netflix® embedded so that hotel guests can connect to their own account, with no additional box or hardware required. This event marked part of PPDS’ much-anticipated return to the hospitality market earlier this year as the company introduces its new line of futureproof, Google Chromecast™ built-in TVs. At HITEC, PPDS also showcased the LED displays, digital signage and touch screen products that are part of an overall suite of hospitality solutions to address every aspect of the guest experience.
