Westerly, RI – April 7, 2022 – Ocean House Collection (OHC), New England’s leading luxury hospitality group, today announced the appointment of Daniel Abrashoff as General Manager of the Forbes Five-Star Weekapaug Inn in Rhode Island, and T. Michael Chandler as Group Human Resources Director.

Daniel Abrashoff joins Ocean House Collection and Weekapaug Inn with more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, including experience with other Relais & Chateaux, Forbes and luxury destinations across the U.S. Daniel previously served four years as General Manager of Devils Thumb Ranch Resort & Spa, an award-winning, Orvis-endorsed property in Colorado.  Prior to that he was Managing Director of The Lodge at Glendorn in Bradford, Pennsylvania, a Relais & Chateaux property that received recognition as the #1 Resort Hotel in the US by Travel + Leisure Magazine, during his tenure.

Abrashoff’s other leadership experience includes his role as General Manager of Lake Kora in New York; Vice President of Services for Hugo Real Property, a private real estate and hospitality company; General Manager of Ashton Hotel in Texas; and Rooms Division Manager at Keswick Hall in Virginia.  He began his hospitality career with Hilton Hotels in New York. Abrashoff received his bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and completed post-graduate studies at New York University.  Abrashoff has a passion for the outdoors and luxury properties, a perfect fit for the scenic and nature-inspired Weekapaug Inn.  In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and fly fishing.

T. Michael Chandler

 

In related news, T. Michael Chandler was named Group Director of Human Resources for Ocean House Collection. Chandler will oversee all human resource functions including strategic planning, administration, recruiting, employee relations and talent management.

He joins Ocean House Collection after serving as a senior human resources consultant, prior to which he held the position of Director of Human Resources for 10 years at the nationally acclaimed Seaport Hotel in Boston. With more than 30 years in the hospitality industry, T. Michael has served in international leadership HR roles for several top companies including Accor, where he oversaw human resources initiatives for all of the company’s Canadian properties; Sofitel, where he was in charge for HR activities in seven countries; and LaQuinta Inns & Suites, with 350 properties. Earlier in his career, Chandler held human resource management positions with Caesar’s Hotel Resort in Indiana, and Harrah’s Entertainment, where he worked with the New Orleans Casino Hotel and managed a partnership with Singapore Airlines.
