STOCKHOLM, Sweden. (Feb. 11, 2020) – Nordic Choice Hotels opened the doors to the Comfort Hotel Arlanda Airport in Stockholm, Sweden on January 30. The 503-room hotel is the largest in the Comfort brand system worldwide and is one of several new hotels that the franchise group will be adding over the next three years. Located between terminals 4 and 5, guests will only have a two-minute walk to the international terminal and it’s also nearby to one of Sweden’s busiest train stations.

A select-service brand, Comfort hotels are environmentally conscious and challenge the traditional image of what hotels offer to guests. Hotels are situated in central locations and offer a welcoming environment and amenities that make for a good night’s rest, all at the best possible price in their segment.

“Comfort has an incredibly smart and modern concept with many good digital solutions,” said Jostein Rajala, general manager, Comfort Hotel Arlanda Airport. “It will be extra exciting to follow our guests’ digital journey, from booking their accommodation through our app or website to checking in and out through our self-service stations, and using their mobile phones as a door key.”

The hotel is actively trying to counter food waste by using smaller plates, fruits and berries are made into smoothies, fish served is MSC labeled, palm oil is banned and there is no beef on the menu. Last year, the hotel removed all disposable plastic and the goal is for only 1% of everything consumed to go to incineration.

The hotel lobby features Barception, where guests can order food, drinks and snacks around the clock. It also is designed for meetings in all its forms, perfect for guests that want to sit down and work as well as have small or large meetings. In addition to the lobby, there are four meeting rooms that can be booked for one hour or for the entire day. For those guests that enjoy being active, the hotel offers a complete gym with focus on functional training.

Anorak Bar is located on the twelfth floor and there is a rooftop bar that offers simpler food, snacks and drinks with a mile-wide view where you can watch the planes take off and land every day. Anorak Bar can also be booked and used for meetings, events or private events.

“It feels magical to stand here and finally see the hotel open,” said Anna Spjuth, senior vice president, Comfort hotels. “This is the first major building block of many that we are laying right now as we are in an incredibly strong expansion phase and with several exciting projects underway. What makes me particularly happy is that more people will be able to discover and stay at Comfort hotels as our capacity increases by over 3,000 rooms within three years.”

The next airport hotel to open is Comfort Hotel Copenhagen Airport on August 1, 2020 and Comfort Hotel Vantaa Airport in Helsinki 2023.
