Live! by Loews – Arlington and Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center welcome new culinary leadership

Loews Hotels in Arlington, Texas announce the appointment of new culinary leadership. Mouhssine “Moose” Benhamacht will leave his post as Executive Chef at Live! By Loews – Arlington to cross the skybridge to the new Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, slated to open in February 2024. Robert Carr will assume the role of Executive Chef at Live! by Loews – Arlington.

Mouhssine Benhamacht has a long history of working alongside award-winning chefs, restaurants and Loews Hotels in metropolitan cities across the United States including Atlanta, Napa Valley, San Francisco, Orlando and Arlington.

Born in Teflit, Morocco, Benhamacht fell in love with the art of gastronomy at a young age. He moved to New York City to embark on his culinary journey where he gained valuable training and insight that helped mold his culinary perspective and rapidly advanced his cooking acumen. Benhamacht has shared kitchens with acclaimed chefs such as Jean-George Vongerichten and Olivier Gaupin in various leadership roles. He assumed the title of Executive Chef at Universal’s Aventura Hotel before bringing his passion for excellence and award-winning creativity to Live! By Loews – Arlington, Texas, where he has served as Executive Chef since 2019.

Chef Moose was hand selected to bring his wealth of knowledge and experience in French, Mediterranean, Pacific Rim, Asian and regional American cuisine to the new 888-room Loews Arlington Hotel and Convention Center, where he will oversee the culinary operation from concept to execution for five new restaurants and lounges.

Benhamacht will be honored as a 2023 40 Under 40 recipient by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Arlington Today. The celebration will be held at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel on November 16, 2023.

Robert Carr brings more than 25 years of five-star international luxury hotel culinary experience to Live! by Loews – Arlington. In his new role as Executive Chef, he will oversee all aspects of the food and beverage operation for five dining outlets, banquet functions, 24-hour in-room dining and special events at the 300-room hotel.

Chef Carr joins Live! By Loews Arlington from his most recent post at Tapatio Resort in the Texas Hill Country. His hospitality experience includes leadership roles at La Cantera Resort and Spa and a 15 year tenure with Hyatt Hotels in locations such as Manila, Philippines, Carlsbad and San Francisco, California and Kauai, Hawaii.

In addition to being responsible for menu planning, quality assurance standards, guest satisfaction and maintaining creativity in banquet and food and beverage outlet operations, Carr has also been recognized in various culinary competitions where he participated and won.
