LᾹNA`I, HAWAI’I (January 15, 2016) – Kemar Durfield has been named Chef de Cuisine, Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i, overseeing all hotel culinary operations including ONE FORTY, American Steak Hawaiian Seafood, in-room dining and extensive catering offerings for weddings, social occasions and other events at the Resort, reopening February 1st following a lobby-to-roof, multimillion dollar transformation.

Durfield brings a wealth of operational knowledge and creativity to the kitchens and has had the pleasure of working with many celebrity chefs including James Boyce, William Bradley and Michael Mina. He comes to Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant industries, including Chef de Cuisine at the Halekulani as well as The Grand Del Mar's Addison restaurant.

Durfield is a graduate of the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and was inducted into the prestigious Relais & Chateaux in 2011.

Gloria Ah Sam has been named Spa Director, responsible for overseeing daily spa operations, Fitness Facilities as well as the Resort’s Yoga and Wellness program.

Ah Sam joins Four Seasons Resort Lanai most recently from the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, and returns to the Hawaiian Islands having worked previously at resorts including Halekulani and Abhasa Spa at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.

The newly renovated Spa offers an extensive menu of rejuvenating and restorative treatments including signature experiences reflecting authentic Hawaiian rituals, ingredients and aloha such as the Royal Hawaiian Facial Featuring JK7, Pineapple Citrus Polish, a nod to Lanai’s history as the “Pineapple Island, and Hawaiian Spa Ritual Journeys honoring the essence of both the Makai and Mauka regions of the Islands.
