Atlanta, GA – April 20, 2016 – LakePoint Hospitality, a new partnership between LakePoint Sports and Duke Hospitality, has announced a contract for the development of upper midscale hotels on the LakePoint campus.

This venture establishes the rights for development of select-service hotels on LakePoint's 1,300-acre property in Emerson, GA. As the premier sports vacation destination continues to impress with immediate and accelerated growth, the LakePoint campus will house hotels from brands such as Fairfield Inn & Suites, Springhill Suites, TownePlace Suites, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn Express & Suites and others.

“The Hospitality venture is an important next step for LakePoint’s mission. We are building a sports stay-and-play vacation destination, almost like a cruise ship. Our hull of the ship is complete with state-of-the-art facilities for indoor and outdoor competition, community activities, entertainment, retail and dining. The last two years have revealed a consistent increase in the need for more hotel rooms. The Duke partnership will be integral to quickly bringing hotel rooms and a vacation hospitality experience to our guests. Our vision is just getting started, and with Duke’s commitment to the development of our hospitality, the best is yet to come,” said Neal Freeman, President of LakePoint Sports.

The hotels will be custom projects, developed to provide for the hospitality needs of LakePoint visitors and their families. LakePoint Sports and Duke Hospitality will pool the resources of two successful development companies to produce a hospitality experience uniquely suited for the sports industry.

“The LakePoint Hospitality partnership merges the vision of Duke Hospitality with that of LakePoint Sports, enabling the two companies to bring an exciting, new concept to life,” said Duke Hospitality President and COO Wesley Dowdy. “The Duke family is thrilled to undertake this ambitious project with LakePoint.

Duke Hospitality anticipates the completion of the first LakePoint Hospitality hotel in early 2017, with the launch of two subsequent hotels in 2018.
