Construction for Marriott’s new hotel, AC Hotel El Segundo/LAX has commenced, Welcome Group, Inc. announced today. The groundbreaking marks the third Southern California location by AC Hotels by Marriott, the company’s boutique-lifestyle brand, and what will be a hotel unlike any other in the area.

The design-centric hotel is set for completion in late spring of 2019 and will feature open-concept floorplans and aesthetic influenced by Spanish design. The project, led by Welcome Group, Inc., will consist of 180 rooms and span six floors. Amenities will include a rooftop bar, a craft beverage and food program, meeting space and multiple patio spaces.

“This hotel will be more than just a destination for creatives and business travelers,” said Arjun Shokeen, Vice President of Welcome Group, Inc. “It is our goal to create a functional and beautiful space that is also for locals looking to experience art, nightlife and European cuisine in their own backyard.”

AC Hotel El Segundo/LAX will offer local craft beer, specialty wines and cocktails, and tapas-style small bites. It will also include a library, lounge area, high ceilings in upper-level rooms and complimentary Wi-Fi.

“The design is extremely thoughtful and contemporary,” added Shokeen. “It is carefully being curated to meet the needs for all of our guests, from those staying overnight or hosting business meetings, to enjoying happy hour after work.”

AC Hotel El Segundo/LAX will be located at Campus Square West and Maple Avenue in El Segundo, less than 10 minutes from LAX and central to the area’s shopping and business complexes, as well as residential areas. A growing hub for business, El Segundo is home to the DirectTV headquarters and offices of Fortune 500 companies like Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, SpaceX, Mattel, Air China and more.
