March 13, 2019 (Newport Beach, California) — BirchStreet Systems today announced the addition of Dan Hiza to the executive team as the company’s Managing Director for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).  With 30 years of hands-on Operations, Sales and Business Development experience at Newmarket International and Amadeus Hospitality, Hiza brings a deep background in delivering enterprise-level hospitality software and services around the world.

In his new role at BirchStreet, Hiza will work directly with the company’s CEO, Steve Markle, and alongside Paul Rantilla, BirchStreet’s CCO, to optimize growth opportunities and satisfy the existing, broad customer-base across the EMEA market.  Hiza first joined Newmarket in 1989 as the company was just coming out of ‘start-up’ mode.  After Hiza’s first 10 years of growing the company, during which time he managed strategic accounts as well as Newmarket’s sales team in the US and internationally, Dan moved to London to establish and manage Newmarket’s EMEA operation in 1999.

“We are very excited to have Dan join our executive leadership team,” said BirchStreet CEO Steve Markle. “Dan brings with him extensive Hospitality enterprise-level software sales experience at the executive level in the EMEA region.  Dan possesses the market knowledge and strong relationships that will allow us to increase our global leadership in cloud-based P2P for the Hospitality industry and explore new sales channels to further accelerate both our customer’s success and BirchStreet’s revenue growth.  With Dan’s arrival, BirchStreet has made a major commitment to its EMEA customers and prospects to create a strong, local presence with the right people at the right time.”

As MD for EMEA, Hiza will be responsible for leading and managing BirchStreet’s SaaS revenue growth and related activities for the EMEA region and will partner cross-functionally with BirchStreet’s customer success, services, support, and business development groups to drive sales and operations strategies.  “This hire bolsters BirchStreet’s objective of pursuing new growth opportunities in our core market of Hospitality enterprise and adjacent markets, globally,” said Markle.

“The opportunity to join BirchStreet at this stage of the company’s international growth was enticing to me,” Hiza commented.  “I am greatly looking forward to partnering with BirchStreet’s strong, existing customer-base to continue delivering high-value products and services, while bringing BirchStreet’s proven, cloud-based Procure-to-Pay solutions to new hospitality businesses throughout EMEA to help them drive operational success and a strong ROI.”

Hiza holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Hotel Management from the University of New Hampshire.
