Charleston, SC (September 1, 2023) – Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC), a Charleston, SC-based hospitality company whose purpose is to create meaningful ways for people to connect and share extraordinary experiences, announced today the appointments of three executive positions within its prestigious collection.

Robert (“Bob”) Megargle, previously the Managing Director of BHC’s flagship property The Charleston Place, has stepped into the role of Area Managing Director, effective immediately. Megargle has been instrumental in overseeing The Charleston Place’s transition to an independent luxury boutique hotel under BHC, and will be taking over this key management position at BHC’s corporate office, overseeing the Collection’s current hospitality entities as well as the growth of BHC’s Charleston area assets, including the development of a new community park at 141 Meeting Street.

Meanwhile, The Charleston Place is delighted to welcome Rebecca (“Becky”) Hubbard to the position of Managing Director. Hubbard previously served as the General Manager of the iconic Lotte New York Palace, where she successfully oversaw a $140-million renovation, an ownership transition, and thoughtfully led a team of 800 employees. Hubbard is a seasoned hospitality professional with more than 20 years of experience in the hotel industry, having worked with lauded brands including The Ritz-Carlton and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

With a longstanding reputation for exceptional quality and impeccable service, Hubbard draws from her widespread experience by understanding and identifying with every aspect of the hotel industry, bringing genuine passion and dedication to her role. In her new position as Managing Director of The Charleston Place, Hubbard will lead the hotel’s continued transformation and its exciting next chapter under BHC.

The Cooper, one of the newest additions to BHC’s portfolio, will open in 2025 as downtown Charleston’s only luxury waterfront hotel. Overseeing the property in the role of Managing Director is Lukus Grace, who joins the BHC team from his most recent role as the General Manager of Atlanta’s Thompson Buckhead. Grace brings with him a vast range of experience from the most luxurious global hospitality brands, including Capella, St. Regis and Hotel Bel-Air, part of the prestigious the Dorchester Collection. Grace is well-equipped to undertake this significant opening for downtown Charleston, having overseen all opening operations for Thompson Buckhead in 2021.

“Bob has surpassed our expectations over the past two years leading The Charleston Place as our flagship property, and we welcome him with open arms into the corporate office,” said Casey Lavin, President, BHC. “By focusing on delivering purpose-driven hospitality and enriching the lives of our colleagues, community and guests, BHC has been fortunate to attract top talent from across the country to join our team. Lukus and Becky align perfectly with our mission, vision, and values, and their proven abilities to inspire and lead teams will pave the way for BHC’s future success.”
