Accor, a world-leading hospitality group offering unique experiences in nearly 4,800 hotels, resorts and private residences, an unparalleled portfolio of brands, and cutting edge digital services, has announced the appointment of Nenad Praporski as General Manager, Fairmont Austin.

In his new position, Praporski will lead all strategic direction and operational processes for Fairmont Austin’s 1,048 rooms, five bars and restaurants, nearly 140,000sq/ft of event space and 800+ employees.

Praporski most recently served as Hotel Manager, Fairmont Austin, a position which gave him wide-ranging oversight of hotel operations, with a strong focus on driving operational excellence in key areas of employee and guest engagement, service culture, revenue, GOP margins, and owner relations.

Praporski brings extensive operational experience in luxury hotels to this role. He was part of the opening team at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada in Front Office Operations. From there, he joined MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas where he held progressive positions, including Front Desk Manager and Assistant Hotel Manager. Praporski then relocated to New York as Front Office Manager, Grand Hyatt New York and was subsequently appointed Director of Rooms, Hyatt Regency Long Island, New York. In 2010 he joined The Grand Del Mar, San Diego as Executive Director of Rooms and in 2015 was relocated to Macau SAR, China as Executive Director – Hotel Operations, Wynn Palace. Praporski joined Fairmont Austin in June 2016 as Hotel Manager and has now been officially appointed General Manager, Fairmont Austin.

Praporski holds his Master of Science, Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as well as a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. Praporski currently sits on the board of the Austin Hotel & Lodging Association, where he helps to influence and improve the hotel and lodging industry in Austin and surrounding areas.
