Hotel Online Special Report GM Franciso Crespi Adapts 18 Rooms at the Melia Barcelona Hotel for Women Travellers May, 1999 – The Meliá Barcelona, one of Sol Meliá’s most emblematic hotels, has recently inaugurated a special personalised service for female travellers and has reserved 18 standard, junior suite and executive floor rooms exclusively for women visitors to this modern hotel in the centre of Barcelona.

With the comfort of women travellers in mind, the reserved rooms include an additional set of amenities such as cleansing cream, face tonic, make-up removal pads, nail varnish towels, hygiene set, body milk and magnifying mirror. The rooms also provide a hairdryer, bathrobe and slippers.

Guests staying in the reserved rooms in the Meliá Barcelona will also receive free newspapers and women’s magazines and will have free use of the hotel’s ironing service.

The General Manager of the Meliá Barcelona, Francisco Crespí, says that the new rooms “are just one of our responses to the need to provide hotel products and services that are far more personalised and which are much better adapted to the different needs of our guests”. He adds that “the number of women travellers has increased considerably in recent years and this type of initiatives aims to bring added value to the services we provide for them”.

This particular initiative is only one of many new services and facilities developed by the 252 Sol Meliá hotels all over the world, which include other features such as health food menus, dry cleaning of fine clothing and health and beauty treatment.
