SHELTON, Conn. – December 15, 2014 – Officials of New Castle Hotels & Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced the promotion of Lou Gaudio to general manager of the newly renovated and expanded Hilton Garden Inn, at Portland, Maine’s International Jetport.

Gaudio previously was assistant general manager at the Sheraton Tarrytown in Tarrytown N.Y. and has been with New Castle since 2006 when he joined the company as the rooms division manager at the Woodcliff Lake Hilton. Earlier in his career, Gaudio held varying management positions for Westin branded hotels in Times Square, Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ as well as the Ballantyne Resort Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel. He also held management positions at the New York Palace and The Plaza Hotel.

“Lou has deep and solid hotel experience and has proven his readiness to become a general manager, so I’m very pleased that we were able to offer him an opportunity to continue his career with us,” said Gerry Chase, president and COO of New Castle Hotels & Resorts. “Portland is a competitive market and I am confident that Lou’s experience will be beneficial as we compete for market share.”

“This hotel is well positioned for both business travelers who value proximity to the airport, and leisure travelers who appreciate an affordable alternative to the more expensive hotels downtown,” said Gaudio. “We have a great hotel product and dedicated team of hospitality pros supporting it. I’m eager to get started.”

The Hilton Garden Inn Portland Airport is adjacent to the international jetport and earlier this year unveiled its 124 new and completely renovated guest rooms, and upgraded “Project Grow” lobby. The hotel also offers a heated indoor pool and hot tub, 800 square feet of meeting space, a 24-hour business center and the brand’s Garden Grille and Bar, serving breakfast, cocktails and dinner daily. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to the airport and downtown Portland, as well as in-room WiFi.
