Feb. 14–A developer that plans to redevelop the vacant site of Wilbur Chocolate in Lititz has officially purchased the site.

Lancaster Online reports the transaction was disclosed in courthouse documents filed Tuesday. The local developer, Oak Tree Development Group, finalized the sale for a total of $2.25 million.

Oak Tree recently signed an agreement that includes a Hilton Tapestry Collection franchise, 74-room boutique hotel, set to open by April of next year at that location that will be named "The Wilbur."

Hilton launched the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand last year. The Tapestry Collection by Hilton is positioned in the upscale segment just below Curio — A Collection by Hilton, which launched in 2014, according Hilton's website.

The overall development project for the property includes the partial demolition of the existing building along Kleine Street; the Tapestry boutique hotel; sit down restaurant and bar; 26 elevator-served residential condominium units; retail shops along Broad Street; parking facilities; 32 Plus-55 condominium units; and two new apartment buildings, one with 80 units and the other with 75.
