Jan. 10–JACKSON, Mich. — Hotel options in Jackson continue to improve.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott opened their doors at 2002 Bondsteel Drive in Blackman Township on Dec. 28.

The extended-stay style hotel features a full kitchen in each room. King studios, queen studios and one bedroom suites are part of the hotel's 102 rooms, said manager Jay Johnson.

Johnson is a Jackson native and 1970 graduate of Parkside High School. After living all over the country, he's returned home to manage the property.

The hotel has a pool and fitness center and offers breakfast each morning. An outdoor patio with Weber grills and a fire pit are also featured. The property is owned and managed by Midwest Lodging Group.

Hotel growth in Jackson will continue in June when a Courtyard by Marriott is scheduled to open next door to the TownePlace Suites. That hotel will feature a full restaurant and lounge, Johnson said.
