Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – January 22, 2015The Resort at Pedregal is delighted to announce the appointment of Carlos Blanco as General Manager of the luxury Five Diamond property, set to reopen on January 31, 2015.

Having worked at some of the most respected and prestigious Five-Star hotels in the region, Blanco arrives at The Resort at Pedregal with nearly 30 years of industry experience and hospitality expertise. His proven success in Cabo San Lucas and passion for the industry will make him an invaluable part of the newly launched Resort at Pedregal. In his new role, Blanco will continue the success of the award-winning resort, while cultivating both domestic and international relationships and providing exceptional guest service property-wide.

Prior to joining The Resort at Pedregal, Blanco was the General Manager at select premier properties in Mexico, including the Viceroy Zihuatanejo and Villa La Estancia in Cabo San Lucas. Prior to his extensive time in Cabo San Lucas, he was General Manager at Jumby Bay in Antigua West Indies, a Rosewood Resort. Blanco also spent seven years at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico, where he worked under distinguished hotelier, Ed Steiner. During his time at each of these properties, Blanco was tasked with overseeing the day-to-day management and resort operations, and established a strong track record with several notable accomplishments, including the successful hotel rebranding of the Viceroy Zihuatanejo.

Additional experience includes 10 years spent at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, including Caneel Bay in St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands. During his time there, he was instrumental in the development of luxury standards and employee training, before returning to his native Mexico to take a position at the Viceroy Zihuatanejo and Villa La Estancia.

Blanco has been married to his wife, Norma, for 26 years and has two daughters and one son. He has a passion for singing and loves to travel throughout the U.S. and different parts of Mexico.
