SINGAPORE -14 JUNE 2016- Le Meridien Singapore, Sentosa is delighted to announce the appointment of its General Manager, Mr. Jason Leung whose extensive experience as a consummate hotelier stretches over 14 years. Jason was previously with The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali for a total for 7 years where he held various key management roles as Hotel Manager for 3 years, Executive Assistant Manager and the Director of Sales & Marketing where he was responsible for strengthening its position as a world-class family leisure and MICE resort.

Jason was also a part of the team overseeing the renovation of the award-winning Bali International Convention Centre. His career with Starwood first started off as Director of Sales at Four Points by Sheraton Sydney, Darling Harbour in 2006. Jason's focus and commitment to the brand has served him well as his future with Starwood continues to grow and shine brighter than ever.

To celebrate the unveiling of Le Meridien Singapore, Sentosa on 8 June 2016, engaging activities were lined up for both the hotel's associates as well as the guests for a great start.

Associates were warmly welcomed in the morning and greeted brightly by the hotel's newly appointed General Manager, Mr. Jason Leung and the hotel's management team. They were also pleasantly surprised with a delectable welcome breakfast specially prepared for them.

The hotel also welcomed its first SPG check-in guests in the afternoon and surprised them with a selection of refreshing fruit-infused welcome drinks at the lobby and delectable canapes at the Galleria, where guests gathered together with mocktail and cocktail drinks.

The associates were also formally addressed for the first time with a welcome speech by Mr. Jason Leung, the hotel's General Manager and Mr. Charlie Dang, Regional Vice President, Southeast Asia at Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc who gave an insightful overview about the Le Meridien brand and Starwood. Associates celebrated with a delightful selection of destinational specialties like the spicy Singapore Chilli Crab paired perfectly with Fried Mantou Buns, Fried Dumplings and Teriyaki Chicken sandwiches, created by Executive Chef, Desmond Chan and his culinary team. They also had a taste of eclairs in unique flavours, beautifully presented by award-winning Pastry Chef, Edwin Leow and his team.

Tentatively scheduled to be completed in November 2016, Le Meridien Singapore, Sentosa aims to transform the existing Galleria into 'Le Meridien Hub,' an innovative concept that re-interprets the traditional space into a social gathering place for creative minds to converse, debate and exchange. The Hub concept, which launched in June 2011, is currently being introduced in Le Meridien hotels and resorts around the world, further building on the brand's signature award-winning Arrival Experience, and innovative programs catering to curious minded travellers such as its Master Barista-led coffee offerings, Sparking aperitif-inspired cocktail program and popular Unlock Art platform.
