NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (March 12, 2024) – A new lifestyle hotel is coming to the popular South of Broadway (SoBro) neighborhood in Nashville. Mortenson Development has purchased the site located at 311 3rd Avenue, closed on its construction financing, and will start construction later this month. This is the first Motto by Hilton in the Nashville area. Motto by Hilton is a lifestyle brand that empowers guests by giving them added flexibility to create their own stay experiences in the world’s most sought-after cities.

Located in the heart of the SoBro neighborhood, the hotel site is three blocks south of the famous Broadway Street and is within walking distance to several leisure and group attractions such as Music City Convention Center, Bridgestone Arena (home to the Nashville Predators), Country Music Hall of Fame, and Ascend Open Air Amphitheater. Amenities include a full-service restaurant, multiple bars, coffee offering, fitness center, flexible meeting space, and common space with an outdoor patio. The design of the Motto by Hilton hotel is uniquely flexible. Thirty percent of guest rooms are linkable, allowing guests to adapt their room selections for their group’s needs.

“We are very proud to be delivering this unique, high-quality lodging product to the Nashville market. It has been rewarding to partner with Hilton Worldwide, the City of Nashville, and many other community stakeholders to transform this location into a mixed-use, urban community,” said Alex Sanders, Development Executive at Mortenson. “The Motto brand will provide both business and leisure travelers with upscale, yet affordable accommodations, with unexpected amenities and an unforgettable experience.”

Known for their integrated delivery model, Mortenson is serving as both the developer and design-builder of this hotel. The design team includes ESa Architects and Wild Muse Interior Design Firm. Mortenson helped lead the construction team responsible for building GEODIS Park stadium in 2022. The company’s Nashville office is located downtown at 401 Church Street in the historic L&C Tower and is led by Dan Mehls, vice president and general manager.
