Macon, GA – February 23, 2022 – Visit Macon, the destination marketing organization (DMO) for the soulful city located in the heart of Georgia, announced details surrounding Historic Macon’s only boutique hotel. Part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, Hotel Forty Five officially opened its doors on February 1. With a prime location across from the newly designed Rosa Parks Square, the 94-room boutique hotel features three on-site outlets, one being a rooftop bar offering a charming setting with stunning views.

“We are thrilled to welcome Hotel Forty Five as the first hotel in our blooming Historic Central Business District,” said Valerie Bradley, Visit Macon’s vice president of marketing and communications. “This property offers fresh new accommodations and dining options for travelers visiting the area and our local residents, of course, while reflecting Macon’s local history in a thoughtful, beautiful way.”

Nestled in the heart of Macon, Hotel Forty Five is situated on the iconic 45-degree angle formed by the meeting of Cherry and First Streets with Cotton Avenue, which was once a core element of the city’s design, allowing transportation of cotton barges to and from the river. Guestrooms reflect the area’s one-of-a-kind history with preserved architectural elements and the hotel’s design includes vintage elements, pops of color and a dash of class.  Accommodations feature deluxe bedding, artisan pantries and well-lit work workspaces.  The hotel also features three new dining destinations including:

  • Hightales Rooftop Bar offers a whimsical experience with small plates and delicious cocktails named after famous songs from Macon artists, complemented by skyline views from the sixth floor. Serving as a perfect social gathering spot for family and friends, Hightales Rooftop Bar offers dishes like deviled eggs lacquered with peppered pork belly and shrimp ceviche with avocado, citrus and chilis. Signature cocktails include the “Ramblin’ Man,” a Patron Añejo pour with maple and angostura, along with the “Reddy Teddy,” which has Corazón, jalapeño-habanero agave, red bell pepper, cilantro and lime.

  • Loom, adjacent to the lobby of the hotel, is named after Macon’s roots in the textile industry and features a historic mural of workers inside a textile mill along with hand-glazed ivy green tiles and copper accents. Led by Executive Chef Steven Brockman, Loom serves an array of seasonal and carefully crafted Southern Revival cuisine such as a smoked chicken chowder with black-eyed peas, peppers, sweet potato and greens, along with a pork belly carbonara with fresh angel hair pasta, crispy pork belly, parmesan and salt-cured egg yolk.

  • Reckon Coffee & Wine Bar has a rotating seasonal menu to feature breakfast and dinner options. Guests can dine with delicious offerings such as challah French toast with maple syrup, berry compote and cinnamon-pecan butter and a chimichurri steak with black-eyed pea and tomato salad. Curated wines are offered on the menu during the evening. Serving as an eclectic space, elements of the city are brought from outside through artistic displays.

Minutes away from the best attractions, including the Macon City Auditorium, Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and tributes to music legends, Hotel Forty Five offers a timeless, immersive experience to guests visiting the area.
