SONOMA, CALIF. (January 25, 2024) – MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa, a 69-room luxury boutique hotel recently acquired by Foley Entertainment Group (FEG), proudly announces the appointment of Robyn Montes as the new Food & Beverage Director. In her role, Montes will help support the daily culinary operations for the property’s three culinary concepts — Layla, the dining centerpiece of the hotel, The Bar at MacArthur and The Porch, a marketplace featuring local purveyors — weddings and social events, poolside dining, and the hotel’s in-room dining program. With a rich background in the culinary arts and a commitment to impeccable service, Montes will elevate the dining experience at MacArthur Place to new heights.

“We are thrilled to welcome Robyn Montes as our new Food & Beverage Director at MacArthur Place,” said Bill Foley, Founder of Foley Entertainment Group. “Robyn’s unwavering commitment to culinary excellence, passion for creating memorable dining experiences, and proven track record in the industry make her the perfect addition to our team. We look forward to the exciting culinary journey that Robyn will undoubtedly lead us on, enhancing our reputation as a premier destination for exceptional dining.”

Montes brings a wealth of experience to her role, with an illustrious career that includes significant contributions to renowned establishments such as San Francisco Proper, The Alinea Group in Chicago, Nico in San Francisco, and a brief stint at Quince Restaurant in San Francisco. A graduate of Roosevelt University in Chicago with a degree in Political Science, Montes complements her educational background with a Level 2 certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Notably, her curated Villon wine list earned an esteemed Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator, a testament to her discerning taste and expertise in oenology.

“MacArthur Place has long been synonymous with excellence in hospitality – I am excited to join the family and eager to contribute to the legacy of exceptional dining experiences,” said Food & Beverage Director Robyn Montes. “The commitment to quality, emphasis on collaboration, and passion for creating memorable moments align perfectly with my values and I look forward to a new iteration of culinary excellence at MacArthur Place – especially with the newfound support from the FEG team.”

MacArthur Place’s enhanced culinary and beverage programming is bolstered by two locally colonized bee apiaries in partnership with Marin Coastal Bee Co., with honey produced from each hive showcased across the six-acre property’s guest programming and culinary outlets. Additionally, a thriving Chef’s Garden boasts seasonal vegetables, flowers, micro-greens, herbs, and more — used as ingredients and garnishes at Layla and The Bar at MacArthur.
