LOS ANGELES, CA (May 2024) – The iconic and newly renovated Los Angeles Athletic Club announces the appointment of Troy Christian as Managing Director. In this role, Troy oversees all aspects of the historic private members club, including daily operations, revenue strategy and reputation management. Working closely with the in-house management team, he is responsible for elevating the member experience and introducing new programming that celebrates the core mission of the over 140-year-old landmark property: the devotion to the lifelong pursuit of health-giving amusements.

With more than 30 years of world-class hospitality experience, Troy brings a strong performance record in luxury and lifestyle hotel and restaurant management and operations to Los Angeles Athletic Club. He excels in creating and driving innovative food and beverage concepts, delivering exceptional service and revenue, and leading high-performing hotel teams across the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome Troy Christian to lead our management team at Los Angeles Athletic Club,” said Bill Doak, Managing Director, Hospitality, Stockdale Capital Partners, LLC. “Troy’s broad base of experience, personal interests and professional demeanor are ideal to lead the exclusive private members club, embracing the history and ensuring the value of current trends and changing demographics of Downtown Los Angeles. We are confident in having him lead the club into a new era of continued community and success.”

Prior to joining Los Angeles Athletic Club, Troy served as a Hotel General Manager and Vice President of Food and Beverage at Sage Hospitality Group, where he oversaw the operations, strategy, and growth of several award-winning restaurants and hospitality brands across the United States. Most notably, he helmed the launch and success of Sage Hospitality’s Urban Farmer restaurants in Cleveland, Denver, and Philadelphia, generating over $38M in annual revenue, opening new locations, and expanding the concept from single property locations to a national brand. Troy also held senior leadership roles at Two Roads Hospitality and Joie de Vivre Hospitality before joining Sage Hospitality Group.

In addition to enhancing the member experience and driving the strategic revenue growth for Los Angeles Athletic Club, Troy is also seasoned in project management, menu development, staff training, and operational leadership, and brings a strong network of industry partners and stakeholders to the club business.

This news comes on the heels of Los Angeles Athletic Club’s multimillion-dollar renovation project completed this March. Highlights of the renovation include a new 10,000-square-foot, full-floor fitness facility on the 7th floor, and the opening of the Famous Players cafe and restaurant helmed by culinary director Marco Cerruti.

Located at 431 W. Seventh Street at the corner of Olive Street, near the Historic Core, the Club is within walking distance to some of the city’s major and most iconic arts and culture offerings, including The Broad Museum, Grand Central Market, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dodgers Stadium, and more.
