LOS ANGELES, CA, January 3, 2014 – Veteran hotelier Jonathan Litvack, named general manager of the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel in 2013, will oversee a $45 million rejuvenation of the 485-room property to include all guestrooms, meeting space and the lobby area, as well as the restaurant and lounge.

He successfully converted the hotel, which is located in the heart of the city’s financial, sports and entertainment epicenter, from a franchise operation to the world’s newest Starwood-managed hotel on June 1. The rejuvenation, which includes the hotel as well as the adjacent office tower and retail shopping center anchored by a flagship Macy’s, will be renamed the Bloc. Upon completion, it will be the largest single asset mixed-use property in the City of Los Angeles.

Prior to taking the helm of the Sheraton, he was the general manager of The Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona from 2011 until 2013, where he was involved in a $35 million top-to-bottom makeover of the iconic property. Litvack’s previous experience in Southern California includes serving as general manager of The Westin Pasadena, a position he held from 2006 until 2011.

His other career highlights include posts as general manager of The Sixth Avenue Inn and Days Inn Town Center in Seattle, and as hotel manager of The Doubletree Bellevue, where he rose through the ranks as chef, then Food and Beverage manager, to director of Meetings and Conventions.

He is a 1985 graduate of The Culinary Institute of America.

Located within walking distance of award-winning Los Angeles Convention Center, Staples Center and LA Live, the Sheraton has more than 26,000 square feet of multi-use meeting space, a complimentary fitness facility, lobby bar and the Brasserie restaurant. Guestrooms feature luxurious Sheraton Sweet Sleeper? beds, Sheraton bath amenities and wireless Internet access. Sheraton Club guestrooms offer upgraded amenities and complimentary access to the Club Lounge. The hotel embraces environmentally friendly practices, including recycling, an opt-out program for changing sheets and towels, low-flush toilets and energy-efficient light bulbs.
