London, UK, September 28 – iRiS, the world’s leading enterprise mobile solutions provider for the hospitality industry partners with NU-Menu, pioneers in the development of F&B mobile and tablet applications for the South African market. As official partners, Nu-Menu has set out to drive hotel and restaurant F&B growth through mobile innovation.

The iRiS F&B Suite revolutionises the restaurant dining experience with the ability to be more than just a digital menu. The cloud based application runs on all devices and can be deployed as a self ordering kiosk for fast casual, on table self ordering or as a digital menu. The visual imagery and enticing descriptions, combined with a host of unique features and ‘menu modifiers’, make this app remarkably convenient and truly engaging.

With over 80,000 restaurants in South Africa, the multilingual solution provides a wealth of opportunities for dining establishments at the table or poolside. The F&B Suite offers cross selling, up-selling and promotional flagging to allow restaurants to promote offers, push wine pairing and flag limited availability of dishes. With a Point-of-Sale (POS) integration guests can even add items to their cart or send orders direct to the kitchen.

“iRiS has had a truly positive impact on the waiter/patron communication and service experience; diners are able to browse through food and beverages in their own language before either entering into a discussion with a member of staff or place an order directly to the POS. The collaboration with iRiS has enabled us to bring a new type of digital- dining technology to the South African market. Additionally, it’s a new marketing tool for hotels and restaurants, allowing us to provide valued added experiences to keep pace with growing expectations as well as introduce additional sources of revenue. We are excited about our future with iRiS and in delivering future proof technologies to keep us ahead of the competition” Gary Ernstzen, Managing Director Nu-Menu.

Jason Jefferys, CEO at iRiS also comments “The proliferation of digital consumer hardware and software is raising the bar. Guests are now expecting more value and enriched experiences when they travel and dine. Fundamentally this type of technology is steering the entire hospitality market into a new direction. Our F&B Suite proposition derives from smarter integrations and smarter technology, helping Nu-Menu to provide a more interactive and smarter experiences for their customers.”

iRiS have also now introduced a web-based patient-facing solution allowing patients to interact with hospital services and facilities in their preferred language before, during and after their visit on any device due to its responsive nature.

The solution allows you to make an initial introduction with the patient before arrival, checking their dietary requirements, and ensure all personal details are correct. The solution also gives patients the option to say if they need additional support accessing the hospital or room and has the additional capability of detailing pre and post treatment information.
