LIJIANG, China, April 1, 2015 — The InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort and Hotel Indigo Lijiang Ancient Town are delighted to announce the appointment of their new General Manager, Mr.Ernst Mayer. An Austrian national, Mr. Mayer has been working in the hospitality industry for three decades. He is passionate about service and has worked in many different departments, which gives him a well-rounded understanding of the hotel business.

Mr. Mayer has solid experience with new properties having overseen the opening of six properties including the Jumeirah Dhevanafushi Maldives. InOctober 2012 he re-joined IHG group with the pre opening of the Intercontinental Haitang Bay Sanya. Under his leadership Intercontinental Sanya won many awards and has become one of the most successful properties on the island.

From 1992 to 2001 he worked at the acclaimed Crowne Plaza Salzburg in Austria. Mr. Mayer is a graduate of Modul University inVienna, Austria and also studied atCornell University in the USA. He also took part in IHG’s “General Manager Program” in Shanghai.

The InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort formally opened its doors in February 2015 with a series of celebrations, which showcase how this strategically positioned design-inspired hotel celebrates the finest of traditions ofChina and South-East Asia whilst providing modern, well-appointed facilities.
