InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta announces today the completion of a full-property reimagination, inviting a new chapter of Southern sophistication to this Buckhead retreat.

The leading luxury hotel underwent two phases of enhancements over the last year, on the heels of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts’ 75th Anniversary. The first stage was completed in late May 2022 with the unveiling of Atlanta’s newest culinary hotspot, The Americano, an Italian-inspired steakhouse with an elevated modern menu, led by celebrity chef Scott Conant, offering lunch and dinner menus; a redesign of the hotel’s lobby lounge to The Great Hall; the addition of Caffé Americano, where breakfast classics and light morning fare is offered; and a remodel of the extensive premier meetings and events space. Debuting this month, the second and final phase of the redesign has brought to life a fully transformed hotel with the unveiling of a new 21st-floor InterContinental Club Lounge, Signature Suites and a rebrand of the hotel’s spa in partnership with renowned skincare brand Biologique Recherche. For both business and leisure travelers alike, InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta is where Southern sophistication meets international allure – a luxury enclave in the heart of Buckhead.

Gerasimos Ferentinos, General Manager of InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta, said: “The official completion of the extensive transformation represents the culmination of tireless work on the part of multiple partners. We are proud to reintroduce InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta to both international and local travelers alike. It is our priority to deliver memorable moments to guests by offering the epitome of luxury, dedicated staff, exceptional amenities, and a warm ambiance.”

Chicago-based KTGY Simeone Deary Design Group oversaw the full property transformation and was inspired by the pillars of Atlanta’s Southern roots – the state symbols of the peach, honeybee and Cherokee rose. Through this inspiration, it created a vibrant environment that exudes warmth and accommodation for every type of traveler. This announcement marks the first major redesign of InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta since its November 2004 opening, and guests arriving at the hotel can now expect an idyllic scene from the moment they step through the entryway and into the revitalized lobby complete with rose marble floors, hand-blown crystal custom ceiling fixtures and large-scale abstract artwork by local mix-media artist Niki Zarrabi adorning the walls.

The second and final phase of the property-wide transformation of InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta included:

InterContinental Club Lounge – Located on the hotel’s 21st floor, the transformed InterContinental Club Lounge offers another level of world-class service and details with dedicated Concierge services, which includes team members trained with Les Clefs d’Or Concierge standards, to assist travelers with every need and distinctly separate areas created for relaxation, light dining, drinks, and business discussions – including a Club Lounge Boardroom and secluded nook, ideal for private calls or intimate conversations.

Boasting views of Peachtree Road and Atlanta’s skyline, the design of the space offers a contrast of ebony wood flooring against crisp white walls, in addition to eye-catching green accents throughout the space. Large rugs, inspired by the texturing of natural stone, decorate the floor with garden-like, flowing shapes in shades of green, gray, and charcoal.

The InterContinental Club Lounge experience includes access to daily culinary presentations with welcome drinks, an American breakfast buffet, all-day snacks and beverages, evening drinks and canapés from 6-8pm. Access to the Club Lounge is included when booking Club Rooms or Suites on the 21st and 22nd floors and is available as an upgrade for standard rooms pending availability.

Signature Suites – Upon entering the suites, guests discover a soft palette of crisp whites, touches of warm gray and a signature pop of jeweled emerald velvet. Bureaus and bookshelves are finished in a warm taupe lacquer while a lace-like rug pattern evokes charm. Pulling through from the lobby, an original floral art piece by Zarrabi is displayed on the wall for an added decorative touch above a custom luggage bench. By contrast, the Presidential Suite reflects a bolder, yet still refined design with accent metals, wood texture and stone throughout, along with new art, honey-toned finished floors, an upgraded fireplace, and iron canopy bed that induces a sense of grandeur, all with sweeping downtown Atlanta views. In tune with the trend of in-room fitness amenities, the Presidential Suite also features a state-of-the-art Mirror workout system with complimentary access to certified trainers and classes.

The Spa – The Spa at InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta has partnered with Biologique Recherche to offer guests a new, elevated spa experience. As a part of the rebrand, The Spa introduces immersive packages and treatments that incorporate the innovative brand’s revolutionary professional skincare and result-driven products, which are highly concentrated in botanical, marine and biological active ingredients, cold formulated at their laboratory in France. Spa-goers are encouraged to indulge in a spa treatment of their choice or in a full day of pampering. The Spa is connected to the hotel’s outdoor saltwater pool and state-of the art fitness center.

A key component to the first phase of the property transformation, The Americano officially opened on May 23 and has since become one of Atlanta’s most sought-after culinary hot spots for Buckhead locals and visitors alike. The restaurant exclusively offered dinner, dessert and bar service since its spring opening, but recently announced the launch of its lunch programming. In addition to some of the classic items featured on The Americano’s dinner menu – such as a variety of high-quality steak options and pasta staples, including pasta al pomodoro and tagliatelle Bolognese – the lunch menu features a selection of sandwiches, salads and lighter entrees.
