TAIPEI and MCLEAN, Va. – Hilton (NYSE: HLT) today announced the opening of HOTEL RESONANCE TAIPEI, a 14-story, 175-room modern hotel located at Happy Village of Zhong Zheng District, Taipei. The latest addition to the Tapestry Collection portfolio and the first hotel under the brand to launch in Asia Pacific, Hotel Resonance Taipei is owned by Times Square International Stays Corp, a subsidiary of Prince Housing & Development Corp, under a franchise agreement with Hilton.

Providing easy access to the city’s downtown recreational and cultural attractions, Hotel Resonance Taipei is located 37 kilometers from Taoyuan International Airport. “We are thrilled to launch our tenth brand in Asia Pacific with the opening of Hotel Resonance Taipei under our Tapestry Collection brand. To enter the final stretch of a truly unprecedented year with the entry of another one of our market-leading brands in the region is a testament to the confidence we have in the potential of the market, beginning with domestic tourism and drawing international tourists when travel eventually resumes,” said Alan Watts, President, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

“With more than 40 properties currently operating across the Americas, we are excited to expand our global presence in Asia Pacific with the opening of Hotel Resonance Taipei. As one of Hilton’s three Collection Brands, Tapestry Collection provides travelers with a unique stay experience in an independent hotel that remains authentic to its destination. Our hotels aim to inspire travelers to get out and enjoy a local experience beyond their four walls and I am confident that the unique design and prime location in Taipei’s cultural hub will enable our guests to do just that,” said Jenna Hackett, Global Brand Head, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

Hotel design narrative

The exterior of Hotel Resonance Taipei resembles different frames of a film roll, signifying the recording of every special moment of life. It is designed by award-winning Taiwan architect Kris Yao (KRIS YAO ARTECH), who received the “Honorary Fellowship of the American Institute of Architects” in 2014.

The hotel’s design narrative is built around the theme of a “Film Box,” which was derived from the heritage of the site as a camphor tree farm 150 years ago. Camphor was used as an important industrial material for a variety of household goods and as a backing for photographic roll films. The idea extends to the interior of the hotel and guests will enjoy finding hints of the theme in various areas of the hotel including the guest rooms.

Paying tribute to the site’s later years as home to iron factories a century ago, the hotel will engage with local artists to create pop-up events and workshops themed around metalworking. Visitors can also enjoy Modern Art exhibitions held within the hotel, which enables guests to explore the city through a different lens.

All guest rooms are equipped with media-streaming devices, high-speed wireless Internet access, a 55″ HD television, capsule coffee machine, separate shower & bath, bathtubs, bidets and more. Those seeking exercise or relaxation have a variety of options, including the fitness center at level three outfitted with the latest equipment and free weights, while the wellness center at level two is operated by a well-loved local SPA.
