Denver, Colo. (June 15, 2015) – The Curtis – a DoubleTree by Hilton is pleased to announce that it has named Zach Lybbert to serve as “Coach,” or Director of Sales & Marketing, at Denver’s only pop culture hotel.

The 336-room Curtis is managed by Denver’s Sage Hospitality.

Lybbert joins the Curtis from the Embassy Suites DFW South Hotel in Irving, Texas, where he served as the Director of Sales & Marketing. He also held that position at the Marriott Ogden and helped open the Embassy Suites Salt Lake/West Valley City Hotel, both in Utah.

Lybbert has earned numerous industry accolades in the past decade, including being named “Property Sales Leader of the Year” by Marriott International and “Director of Sales of the Year” by Richfield Hospitality. Lybbert and his Marriott Ogden team were honored as Sage Hospitality’s “Sales Team of the Year” when the property was part of Sage’s portfolio.

“We are excited to have Zach and his extensive sales experience at the Curtis,” said Scott Sloan, “Starship Captain” or General Manger at the Curtis. “The hospitality industry is booming here in downtown Denver and I know that Zach will continue to position the Curtis as top performer in terms of revenue, occupancy and creative marketing and local events.”

Located in the heart of downtown Denver, the Curtis recently completed an extensive $7 million renovation that included upgrades to all 336 guest rooms, a lobby expansion and the creation of 13 “hyper themed” suites all featuring custom art by Colorado artists, unique flooring and decorations. Available suites include a Star Trek suite on the “Sci-Fi” floor and a Jimmy Buffett room on the “Mad About Music” floor.

Originally opened in 2007, the Curtis offers more than 28,000 total square feet of event space, all named after favorite childhood games – including the Marco Polo Ballroom, Peek-a-Boo Ballroom and Four Square Ballroom, a 7,000 square feet indoor/outdoor space that boasts a large retractable nano glass wall and a sizeable outdoor patio complete with a private bar and a fireplace.

A member of Hilton HHonors guest rewards program, the Curtis also features a large Fitness Center, the Oceanaire Seafood Room and The Corner Office Restaurant + Martini Bar, a Sage Restaurant Group concept by restaurateur, Peter Karpinski.
