NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA – December 12, 2019 – AMResorts®, an Apple Leisure Group® (ALG) company, and Hesperia Hotels & Resorts, one of leading hotel groups in Spain, announced today the debut of the second Secrets® Resorts & Spas branded property in Europe with Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa. Following a €10 million renovation, the resort opened on December 9, and is located close to Lanzarote airport and alongside the beautiful marina of Puerto Calero. The property is owned and managed by Hesperia Resorts & Hotels.

Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa underwent an extensive renovation spanning all areas of the hotel, including the 335 guest rooms, several of which were converted into swim-up suites offering private terraces and direct access to a private pool. In addition, 125 of the rooms have been designated as part of the Secrets Preferred Club, an elevated experience that includes luxury amenities and offerings such as access to the Preferred Club Lounge, private pool and solarium, daily continental breakfast served in a private restaurant, upgraded bathroom amenities and exclusive concierge services.
The 5-star, adults-only property also includes a new spa, a renovated gym and wide array of sports and fitness offerings, and new meeting facilities with a combined capacity of more than 1,300 people, reinforcing its value proposition for the MICE segment. The property’s design is inspired by the Canarian culture, featuring nods to iconic local figures such as the multidisciplinary artist César Manrique and a mural by the painter Rufina Santana, entitled Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 1960, which references the islands’ mythology.

The new property marks the eighteenth Secrets Resorts & Spas property, with branded resorts in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico and Spain. The next phase of the ALG and Hesperia Hotels & Resorts alliance will bring the first Dreams® Resorts & Spas-branded property to Spain in 2020, with the conversion of Hesperia Playa Dorada to Dreams Lanzarote Resort & Spa.
