Hotel Online Special Report Pratt, Kansas, Holiday Inn Express Receiving 24 Room Expansion HUTCHINSON, KS September 7, 1999 – New construction slated for the Pratt, Kansas, Holiday Inn Express will provide an additional 24 guest rooms making it the largest hotel in the city of Pratt, Steven C. Olson, CEO and President of the Leisure Hotels Group of Companies announced today.

Groundbreaking for the new addition is set for October 1999 with a completion date of April 2000. The new guest rooms, which will bring the total number of units to 68, will be located to the northeast of the existing facility consistent with the southwestern style of architecture featured on the present structure. An additional parking lot will be paved adjacent to the new accommodations for added guest convenience.

Leisure Hotels purchased the former Seville Inn in May 1993 and completely renovated the facility, reopening the hotel as the Holiday Inn Express in August 1994. The converted facility offered the Pratt community increased meeting and banquet space with sensibly priced upscale accommodations that included oversized sleeping rooms, secure electronic locks and a complimentary morning breakfast bar for travelers. Recognized standards of quality and the notoriety of the Holiday Inn brand name offered new opportunities to the Pratt community as it looked to new avenues for economic development.

“We’re glad to recreate this feeling of excitement in the community as we add additional rooms to the Holiday Inn Express,” Olson said. “When we opened the Holiday Inn Express, Leisure owned 8 hotels. We now operate 17 hotels and have several in development. We’re growing. We’re helping the Pratt community to grow too.”
