Hotel Online News for the Hospitality Executive HILTON HEAD, S.C. March 18, 2013 — Northview Hotel Group (NVHG), based in Westport, Connecticut, has acquired The Beach House, a Holiday Inn Resort, at 1 South Forest Beach Drive on Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. The Beach House is located on Hilton Head’s popular Coligny Beach and features 202 guestrooms, an oceanfront pool, 4,600 square feet of flexible meeting space, and three food and beverage outlets, including the iconic Tiki Hut. The resort is the only beachfront hotel in Hilton Head located within walking distance of a major retail and entertainment hub. NVHG Management, Northview Hotel Group’s operating arm, will operate the resort and oversee the completion of a strategic renovation project. The Beach House marks Northview’s third acquisition since mid-2012. In May 2012, Northview acquired the Sanderling Resort & Spa, a picturesque oceanfront resort on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and in September 2012, the group acquired the Sheraton hotel in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. All three transactions include a significant renovation and strategic re-positioning program implemented by Northview’s construction management and operational teams. “Hilton Head is a high barrier-to-entry lodging market that demonstrated remarkable resilience through the economic downturn due to its consistent, drive market demand base. As the only mid-scale beachfront hotel in Hilton Head, and with its premier location adjacent to Coligny Plaza and on Coligny Beach, The Beach House holds a truly unique competitive position in the market,” said Matt Trevenen, Northview partner. “The Beach House fits perfectly within our growing portfolio as we continue to seek attractive risk-adjusted investment opportunities and we plan to expand our portfolio aggressively in the next 12 months.” “The Beach House acquisition presents an excellent opportunity for Northview to maximize value and enhance the guest experience through the implementation of our propriety management tools and systems,” added Simon Hallgarten, Northview partner. “Our strategic renovation is beginning immediately and our guests will see and feel the difference at The Beach House by this summer.”About Northview Hotel Group Northview Hotel Group, led by Mark Mance, Simon Hallgarten, David Zeuske, and Matt Trevenen, was formed to make opportunistic hotel investments and to provide hotel management, asset management, and construction management services for owners and co-investors.
