Honolulu, HI – (February 21, 2017) – George Nichols has been named assistant vice president of information technology (IT) for Aqua-Aston Hospitality. Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Aqua-Aston Hospitality is a leading hotel and resort management group.

As assistant vice president, Nichols is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the IT strategy for the company. In this role, he oversees senior staff in the delivery of IT services, including application services, telecommunications, desktop technology, and help desk services. Nichols is also responsible for directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of all application systems for the company.

Nichols reports to Gene Pence, senior vice president of application systems. Pence said, “George brings a wealth of experience to our organization and we are confident that he will play a pivotal role at a time when IT’s importance to any business grows on a daily basis."

Prior to joining the company, Nichols spent two years as vice president of information technology at Island Air, where he was responsible for all aspects of the IT department. Previously, he worked as principal project manager for American Airlines and held the same role at Cadbury Schweppes, where he directed technology services and operations. In addition, Nichols has held senior positions overseeing global infrastructure, engineering and information services, and operations in his home state of Texas, where he served for four years as a sergeant in military intelligence for the United States Army, and studied at Texas Tech University.
