Hotel Online Special Report EURHOTEC 2001 Expecting over 2,000 Visitors and 120 Exhibitors in Paris, Feb 19-21, 2001 Paris, 30 October 2000. EURHOTEC 2001, the IH&RA’s 6th European Hospitality Technology Exhibition and Conference, will provide a host of new benefits to exhibitors when it comes The Lausanne EURHOTEC Tradeshow Attracted 75 Exhibitors, 1,000 attendees; EURHOTEC 2001 Scheduled for February 19-21 in Paris / Feb 2000 to Paris from 19-21 February next year. Planned innovations include a new Multi-media Web Theatre, a mobile video-unit broadcasting direct from the exhibition floor daily to three websites: eurhotec.com, hospitalitynet.org and wiredhotelier.com. Footage will include interviews and product demonstrations with hyper-links to exhibitor web-pages.

Other exhibitor supports include an On-line Storefront feature on the website that brings together product information, multi-media clips, custom graphics and company press releases. It will also enable visitors to schedule appointments with Eurhotec exhibitors and allow the latter to post up their job vacancies.

Meeting space for product seminars (lasting 30-minutes) can also be booked by vendors. A Technology Pavilion on the show floor will provide a ‘cyber-café’ setting where visitors can access their e-mail and connect to exhibitor websites for online product/service demonstrations

The event will have a higher-than-ever concentration of buyers and key decision-makers thanks to an inaugural EURHOTEC Technology Leaders Summit, a prestigious by-invitation-only event for CIOs, CFOs and CEOs from major multi-national chains. Designed to address the strategic needs of the hospitality corporation of tomorrow, the Summit will assess the principal forces driving change in the business environment.

EURHOTEC 2001 is expecting over 2000 visitors and 120 exhibitors, principally from Europe but with a strong turnout from America, Asia and the Middle East in addition.

The conference programme of Eurhotec 2001 will take a triple-track approach, accommodating all levels of competence from novice to expert.

1) Basic ‘How to…’ sessions on choosing guestroom technology, designing websites, using e-procurement, selecting distribution channels, boosting web visibility. 2) ‘Integration solutions’ sessions on topics such as retaining data from marketing, integrating old business models into new ones, comparing different types of solutions. 3) ‘Strategic Vision’ sessions on the implications of the latest developments in GDS, Application Service Providers, WAP technology, BT labs, Bluetooth, Geocoded travel booking and others.

Workshops will have a strong interactive dimension to allow experience to be pooled and questions answered. Content will focus not just on what’s new but ‘what’s coming’ in order to equip participants with insight into the trends and developments that will impact their hotels and restaurants in the future. The full programme will be simultaneously available in French and English.

After three days at the Palais des Congrès, visitors will leave Eurhotec with greater awareness of the new products and services on the market, and a clear understanding of which investments to make, but how, when and why to make them. Eurhotec’s great strength is the volume of ‘been-there-done-that’ experience shared by speakers and panellists eager to pass on their knowledge (much of it learned the hard way!) Sessions are so information-rich they can be the equivalent of several hours of free advice from a consultant. EURHOTEC 2001 session themes have a strong e-focus and include :
